Armagh Seavers | Rogerstown Seavers | Lusk Seavers
It is well to remember in dealing with family trees that it is difficult to be completely accurate. This is because State records of births, deaths and marriages in Ireland only go back to 1864. Church baptismal and marriage records go back further. But it is unusual, at least in the case of non-aristocratic families, to find written records earlier than the 18th Century. Headstones in local graveyards are a useful primary source and often help to fill in gaps.
The Seaver family trees that follow, are constructed from the sources mentioned above. The first one is that of the Armagh Seavers, which Rev. George Seaver used in his book. The link between the Lusk and Armagh families becomes immediately apparent, if one goes back to the beginning. However, it has been more convenient to break up the family lineage into constituent parts. After that, one meets the Rogerstown and Lusk Seavers. Later, it is hoped to include the Skerries, Balbriggan and Kilkenny Seavers, as well as other branches that one is not aware of at present.
