Self catering accomodation Out in the west of Ireland, between the Arigna and Curlew mountains lies the scenic lakeland area of Boyle. Just two and a half hours from Dublin and half an hour to the Atlantic coast. We are in a historically rich and scenicly unspoilt area, ideal for walking, cycling, fishing, boating, birdwatching and car touring. If you are looking for a quite place to escape from the rigours of city life for a weekend or longer, then we have what you need.
The flat is warm and cosy and simply, yet comfortably, appointed. It will house a couple or a young family with one or two children, or alternativly two couples sharing.
The flat consists of a hallway leading to the bedroom and living room. The bedroom has two single beds with bedding provided, a wardrobe and electric heater. A cot can be provided on request.
The living room has a double sofa bed (bedding supplied) and dining table, and is equipped with a T.V. radio and C.D player. Off the living room is a galley kitchen which has a gas hob and microwave oven with all cutlery and crockery supplied. It is heated by an electric fire.
Connected by a small hallway is the bathroom, equipped with a power shower (towels not supplied).
Outside you have your own drive way, and a patio area with barbacue and garden furniture. This is a really sheltered sun trap for a lazy day at home.
We are non-smoking.
Boyle town is five miles away and offers shopping, pubs and restaurants and a playground.
We have a pub within easy walking distance, and a music pub two miles away.
Sligo town is half an hours drive and offers good shopping, pubs, restaurants, a cinema and theatre.
The area has many music and arts festivals throughout the summer.
We have our own free range hens and can sell you eggs.Things of interest in the area:
- Loch Key Forest park, home of the Rockingham estate.
- The Kings house in Boyle with a fascinating interactive historic exhibition.
- Boyle Abbey.
- Fishing and boat hire on the numerous lochs and rivers.
- Walking on the miners way and the historic way (an excellent way to visit some of the ancient monuments).
- Cycle hire can be arranged in advance in Boyle.
- Sligo town and Yeats country with beautiful Loch Gill at its heart.
- Unspoilt Atlantic coastline and quiet beaches.
- Sea fishing by boat.
- Strokestown house and the famine museum.
- Water world swimming pool and amusements at Bundoran.
- Galway, Westport and Donegal all within a days drive.
